Well this topic was posted twice and then somehow got deleted !!

I shall try again..

I noticed we have 632 members on the Lifestyle network and yet nobody is posting very much; It seems such a pity as it got off to such a good start - why is it so quiet?

Perhaps by making a new topic about it some of you might be encouraged to voice your thoughts and possibly any suggestions.

I must admit I used to look at the site almost daily - but never found anything new or of interest. I agree, the original idea sounded ideal for people to make contact, share thoughts etc etc.

Perhaps it just needs some stalwarts to keep trying. Don't give up Rosemary!

Well said. I must admit that I have never really been to many forums in the past and, when I have, I have been quite reticent to make any postings. I then decided that I should give it a try. It turns out to be fun! I have been posting several things since, from jokes in the humour section to doing my "Mr Angry" impression in "get it off your chest", topics which have had quite a few views but very few postings.Do you think that it`s just a question of self confidence?

It would be interesting to know why out of more than 600 members, posting are made by just a dozen or so. Some time ago I posted a simple computer enquiry. A few days later having received no response I appealed for help again and again no-one responded. Thankfully Matt from Laterlife Admin came to my rescue.
Just a few weeks ago following a discussion at a club I visit I asked for Laterlife members' opinions about letter writing; just one person posted a reply.

Really I suppose it`s a vicious circle that the less that is happening then the less reason there is for returning, and I`m as guilty as the rest. I too signed up around a year ago but made very few visits to the site but it would be a shame for the forum if that were to continue. How can we get people to re-visit and re-engage do you suppose? At the moment I am getting embarassed at always seeing my mugshot continually on the front page!

I have no idea why people don't post questions or why they don't respond to other postings. Normally as soon as 2 or 3 people get together, be it a pub, club sitting in the park etc, they will start chatting and discussing anything and everything. Even with Laterlife's monthly vote on various subjects there are rarely more than a handful of votes - and you need only to tick a box.
My daughter did suggest I posted the question 'What would encourage you to post?' but then realised that the people who don't want to post, wouldn't post to say why they don't post..........if you see what I mean.

But I'll try anyway - would anyone care to make a comment on why you don't vote or comment on questions or postings, please?

Well that went well Baz.... Perhaps we should type in capitals which is considered the online equivalent to shouting - that'll surely wake them up!

;)
