I think that some of the reasons that the network is quiet are "I haven't got anything interesting to say"; "It's an anonymous mass and you don't know who's listening"; "Like conversations I prefer talking to one person rather than broadcasting".

Perhaps these sort of criteria need to be added to your poll.
